History: (Avengers Standoff: Assault on Pleasant Hill Alpha#1 (fb) - BTS) - A man named Hauser was a substitute teacher before becoming a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent with the rank of private.

(Avengers Standoff: Assault on Pleasant Hill Alpha#1 (fb)) - Agent Hauser worked with Agent Thomas and one other S.H.I.E.L.D. to hack into S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier Iliad's Command Central, leaving Agent Branson behind as a lookout. Having created a master override access card, Hauser broke into the Command Central, which he revealed to the other agents was empty for upgrading that month, something he may or may not have had to do with. When Agent Thomas remarked that Hauser better be able to accomplish the hacking, as he had a lot riding on the hacking's success, Hauser promised that he could hack anything and explained that S.H.I.E.L.D.'s mainframe housed the most sophisticated communications and surveillance networks ever built, and that it was more than capable of providing what they had come there for. Succeeding in his hacking, Hauser displayed NFL Sunday Ticket across all of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s security screens and suggested the agents crack open the cold ones, as sentry shift had just gotten more interesting. Gloating at their victory and mocking Maria Hill, Hauser and the other agents were soon surprised by a large explosion followed by the arrival of the Winter Soldier, who pointed a gun to Hauser's head and asked if Hauser was seriously able to hack anything. The terrified Agent Hauser agreed to hack anything the Winter Soldier wanted out of fear for his life, extracting files for the Winter Soldier before being forced to wipe the servers clean when he was done.

(Avengers Standoff: Assault on Pleasant Hill Alpha#1) - Agent Hauser met with S.H.I.E.L.D. Commander Steve Rogers and reported Winter Soldier's attack, recounting the story. When Rogers asked what Hauser had done when confronted by the Winter Soldier, Hauser admitted he did as he was told and hacked everything the Winter Soldier requested. Hauser revealed that he had extracted specific files for the Winter Soldier, despite typically working in S.H.I.E.L.D.'s IT department, and when asked what was in the extracted files, Hauser admitted that he had no idea and that the Winter Soldier had forced him to wipe the servers clean when he had finished extracting. Rogers then thanked Hauser for his report and said Hauser had been a big help before Hauser was escorted out of the room by S.H.I.E.L.D. guards. As he was being led out, Hauser asked Commander Rogers to not tell Maria Hill about his hacking of the S.H.I.E.L.D. mainframe to watch football, remarking that Hill did not have a sense of humor about such things and that he could not go back to substitute teaching.
