reception hallHistory
(Annihilation: Heralds of Galactus#2 (fb) - BTS) -
Following the defeat of Annihilus, the Annihilation Wave sued for truce, and the devastated leaders of the Kree and perhaps other Empires ceded numerous planets in the devastated Skrull Empire and a number of fringe territories still disputed by the Kree. Ravenous ruled over the ceded territories, and Centurions (the remnants of Annihilus' elite strike force) were each granted a world of their choice to set up their dominion.

(Annihilation: Heralds of Galactus#2 (fb) - BTS) - Warlord Smyt allegedly chose Omina Prime from among the many offered by Ravenous. He led a group of Centurions that came to Omina Prime. As Smyt enforced his will, the people of Omina Prime were obsequious.

(Annihilation: Heralds of Galactus#2 (fb) - BTS) - Firelord vowed to eradicate the Centurions ruling other worlds.reception

(Annihilation: Heralds of Galactus#2 (fb) - BTS) - The people of Omina Prime arranged a reception in honor of Warlord Smyt.

(Annihilation: Heralds of Galactus#2 (fb) - BTS) - A number (at least 5-6) of renegade Centurions -- including Hybalea and Torrent -- dedicated to assassinating their former allies to liberate those worlds under Centurion oppression arrived on Omina Prime.

(Annihilation: Heralds of Galactus#2) <Annihilation Day, plus 274> - At a reception in his honor (attended by an Elan, a Klklk, and many others I can't identify), Smyt was impressed with the effort as well as the people's willingness to serve his will. He basked in their adoration as they noted how flattered they were that he had found Omina Prime worthy of him, and that they lived to serve; he noted to himself mockingly, "As if you had a choice, eh?"

Soon after, as Smyt spoke to some of the people of Omina Prime, noting how he was thinking of making his royal residence in a more temperate zone, perhaps something in their world's equatorial belt, one of Smyt's robotic agents detected the intruders (the renegade Centurions) in their midst. While the people of Omina Prime avoided the conflict, Smyt and his forces took out several of the renegades before Firelord arrived. When Smyt and his Centurions refused to surrender, Firelord destroyed them along with the entire facility in which the reception was being held. Firelord left the renegade Centurions in peace as long as they promised to only act against their corrupt brethren.

Comments: Created by Keith Giffen and Scott Kolins.

The reception image to the right shows Smyt from behind. At the front of the crows at the reception, we clearly see an Elan. I'm not sure if any of the others present are meant to be any other race.
The caterpillar-like being in the center of the picture looks like it COULD be one of the Klklk, but it also might just be some other insectoid being, possibly one of the others seen in the fight allied with Smyt; perhaps these insectoids are remnants from the Annihilation Wave.
The fluttery things at the top of the panel look to be semi-humanoid being with large billowy wings.

Annihilation Day is the day Annihilus' forces invaded the positive universe and began the slaughter represented during the Annihilation series (plural). In case it's not clear, Annihilation Day, plus 274 is meant to indicate 274 days after Annihilation Day.

The buildings (as well as some of the structures within the building) seemed to be mushroom-like...whether they were actually fungal or other living organism-based, or whether this was just a design they favored is unrevealed.

As far as I know, this issue features a new/unique use of Firelord's powers. As the Centurion Death Squad battled him, he engulfed a group of combatants and civilians in flame, which teleported the civilians outside of the reception hall while leaving the combatants behind, after which he destroyed the reception hall.

CLARIFICATIONS:
Omina Prime has no known connections to

people-1people of Omina

Omina Prime seemed to be a world on which numerous other races existed. There was no single race shown to originate from Omina Prime or to dominate the scenes shown.

So, I figured I would just show all of the images containing what appeared to be beings other than just the Centurions. Sorry if the formatting varies and the images and text are all messed up. My current html program is much less friendly in controlling image placement, etc.

In the image to the left, we see Smyt to the left either just in front of the crowd or possibly atop a small stage. On Smyt's right is what appeared to be Smyt's personal assistant, following him around with a tablet. On Smyt's left is one of Centurions in his Death Squad. We also see the Elan from behind, with his antennae sticking out in front of his collar.

people-2

In the image to the right, at the forefront the right of center, we see the faces of two of the renegade Centurions incognito:

    female/center = Torrent (Espia);

    male/right = Hybalea.

On the periphery, we see various unidentified beings. Immediately to the disguised Centurions' right, we see a green insectoid being, possibly the one from the initial reception image from the main profile.

Smyt speaking to representatives; renegades incognito

In the image to the left, we see the the Centurion/Death Squad member on the far left.

The reddish-haired couple are the disguised/incognito Torrent/Espia (female) and Hybalea (male).

To the right, we see Smyt speaking to someone from Omina Prime, with his assistant watching him and using his tablet.

There are a few others visible amongst these others.

people cowering as renegades rush Smyt

The image to the right is mostly the renegade Centurions rushing Smyt.

You can also see a few civilians cowering at the periphery.

insectoids approaching battle

These insectoids rushed to the conflict and fought against the renegade Centurions.

Maybe they are natives to Omina Prime...

Or maybe they are remnants from the Annihilation Wave.

    Who knows?

teleporting civilians out of reception hallcivilians arriving outside reception hall

The image on the left shows Firelord's fiery energy striking the people within the reception hall, civilian and combatant alike.

However, the civilians were transported out of the hall, while the combatants were left behind.

The image to the right shows the civilians materializing outside the reception hall.
