History:

(Classic X-Men#31/2 - BTS) - Chakra was a member of one of the many races living in the vast Shi'ar empire. She came to reside on their imperial homeworld Chandilar where she worked as a janitor. During her time on Chandilar she even encountered Lilandra Neramani, Majestrix of the Shi'ar.

(Classic X-Men#31/2 (fb) - BTS) - Chakra was informed a spigot at the end of the desert was leaking again.

(Classic X-Men#31/2) - On her way to fix the spigot, Chakra passed Lilandra and her consort Charles Xavier and cheerfully greeted the two lovers. The professor found living on Chandilar frustrating because most of the Shi'ar and the other, advanced alien races treated him like a backwards primitive because of his human origins. Lilandra realized Chakra would be perfect to get Charles out of his rut and asked him to accompany her on the repair job. Professor X grudgingly agreed and followed the cheery, bouncing Chakra in his hover chair. However, halfway to the spigot Chakra realized she'd forgotten to refill their oxygen tanks and they were about to run out. Xavier wanted to turn back, but Chakra noticed a meteor shower she wanted to see. Despite the fear of suffocation, Xavier decided to join the girl and watch the mesmerizingly beautiful meteor shower. Touched by the experience, Charles calmed down and noticed they had already reached the leaky spigot. Much to his surprise, it turned out to be for oxygen. Feeling more safe and at ease, Xavier wondered who Chakra really was, figuring she wasn't "just" a plumber. Xavier couldn't understand why the girl would pretend to be stupid and act so common. The carefree Chakra explained she was in fact proud to have such an essential part on Chandilar, she would fix the planet's inner workings and fix the guts of all things and could still do her own bidding and watch a mesmerizing meteor shower. Thus Chakra helped Xavier realize that true intelligence is accepting yourself.

Chakra's alien race has never been identified on panel.

Chakra essentially told Xavier that his task as Royal consort was much like her position as a plumber: "fix the planet's inner workings and the gut of all things". Chakra's job involved actual hardware, Charles' area of expertise was Lilandra's wellbeing. If the Majestrix felt good, she'd be better at running her galaxy spanning empire. Basically she told him to smile, look pretty and enjoy the perks of his cushy "job".

Chandilar the throneworld of the Shi'ar Empire is also known as the Aerie.
