History: (Ghost Rider VI#8 - BTS) -  Melanie Brockton reported on the recent rash of Sleepy Hollow, Illinois murders.

(Ghost Rider VI#9 - BTS) -  Still covering the murder story for the news, Melanie Brockton visited Sheriff Harry O'Connor, who warned her that the Sleepy Hollow curfew applied to everyone in town. Brockton quickly asked O'Connor how the curfew would affect the town's Halloween trick-or-treating festivities and O'Connor sternly asked if Brockton was serious. He then reminded her that until the murderer was caught, the curfew would stand, regardless of festivities, warning the public that there would be serious consequences for anyone seen out after curfew.
