Powers/Abilities: Amundson presumably possessed all the standard powers of a vampire including superhuman strength, immunity to conventional diseases and longevity as long as he regularly consumed human blood and standard vampire weaknesses including sunlight, garlic and obviously a wooden stake through the heart. He sported sharpened fangs, long claws, an elongated snake-like tongue and a large muscular body (maybe he suffered from gigantism during his human life). Due to his his presumably pre-vampirism telepathic powers he could feast on the minds of humans as well, rendering them catatonic within a few seconds through a concentrated psychic attack. Potential victims could shield themselves from his psychic attack by focusing on a single strong emotion.

History:
(Midnight Sons Unlimited#7 (fb) - BTS) - The vampire Jared Amundson hunted in Central Park near the 5th Avenue, 63rd Street entry leaving his victims in a catatonic state due to his vast psychic powers before feasting on their blood.

(Midnight Sons Unlimited#7 - BTS) - Due to the police finding all of Amundson's previous victim around the same area in Central Park Blade staked it out from a tree. For three nights Blade sat in a tree waiting for the vampire to appear. On the fourth night heavy rain made the stakeout so unbearable Blade began to question his purpose in life. Amundson attacked two teenagers, who had passed by moments earlier and Blade jumped into action, surprised the vampire had not a fixed hunting ground as Blade had expected.

(Midnight Sons Unlimited#7) - Amundson had already fed on the boy's mind while holding on to the girl by her hair when Blade appeared. Blade jumped at Amundson, who used his psychic powers on Blade as well, quickly turning Blade defenseless, but before Blade's muscles seized up completely he slashed Amundson across the chest with a knife, interrupting Amundson's psychic attack on him. Amundson fled to the nearby St. Patrick's Cathedral, but Blade followed him. Focusing on his hatred Blade managed to shield himself from Amundson's psychic assault and staked the vampire through the heart with a wooden stake. Amundson's final scream sent Blade's mind back into the past where it possessed 17th century Jonas Cray for a short time before returning to the present day. Standing over Amundson's body when his mind returned from his psychic journey Blade felt a renewed purpose in his life as vampire hunter.

This unidentified vampires was named in the Vampire Appendix in Vampires: The Marvel Undead (2011).

What kind of vampire was he? A mutant vampire, a vampire sorcerer, a Viking vampire from centuries ago, a part of a rarely encountered vampire clan or a mutated vampire of some sort? We will never know even though...

In Blade III#12 a prophecy was fulfilled that brought back all vampires that ever died, which very likely included Amundson.
