Powers/Abilities: Juggernaut had superhuman strength and durability, sufficient enough to battle and withstand the superhumanly strong punches of Cain Marko, the previous Juggernaut. He also carried a samurai sword that he used to slash his enemies.

(New Excalibur#14) – When Cain Marko traveled to the Temple of Cyttorak in Korea in an attempt to retrieve the Crimson Gem of Cyttorak and restore his weakening powers, Cyttorak reminded Cain that the Gem would have to be earned. He then introduced Cain to Cain’s chosen replacement, Hongdo Park. Knowing what Cyttorak was implying, Cain refused to kill Hongdo Park.

(New Excalibur#15) – Cyttorak then informed Cain that his disloyalty had left Cyttorak no other choice but to choose Hongdo as Cain’s successor to the mantle of the Juggernaut. Preparing for battle with his sword drawn, Hongdo viciously slashed Cain, forcing Cain to fight back. Beating Hongdo nearly to death, Cain was confronted by his teammates in Excalibur, who had tracked him to the Temple. After hearing from Cyttorak that Cain had originally slaughtered an entire village when he originally assumed the mantle of Juggernaut, most of the Excalibur members left Cain but Nocturne remained and tried to comfort Cain. Cain rebuffed Nocturne and she too left as Cain eyed the Crimson Gem. Cain later returned to Excalibur, secretly having brought the Gem with him after having possibly killed Hongdo to retrieve it.

Hongdo Park’s real name was revealed in the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe A-Z Update#1 (2010), in Cyttorak’s profile.

It was never specifically stated that Juggernaut had outright killed Hongdo Park to retrieve the Gem, but it was implied since Cain later had the Gem.
