Powers/Abilities: The "English Knight Ghost Rider" wielded a hellfire sword and wore medieval armor. He rode a hellfire-enhanced horse, and could leech the Spirits of Vengeance out of weaker, rival Ghost Riders. Like most Ghost Riders, he presumably possessed superhuman strength and durability, and could generate fire.

History: (Ghost Rider: Danny Ketch#3 (fb)) - In 1066 the "English Knight Ghost Rider" fought at the battle of Stamford Bridge, presumably on the side of King Harold Godwinson and against the invading Norwegian army led by King Harald Haradwa. During the conflict he slew another Ghost Rider, a Norseman who, already badly wounded, was easy prey. The English Knight sucked the power from the Norseman, absorbing the Norseman's Spirit of Vengeance into his own to make himself stronger.

Some time later the English Knight battled the ratlike warrior mystics the Berev'ha Dentii, slaughtering several of them. Whether in that battle or a subsequent one against the Berev'ha Dentii, the English Knight lost control of his own form to his Spirit of Vengeance, and overdosed on his own energies. As the Berev'ha Dentii watched, he writhed in agony, overtaken by rage and vengeance feeding on itself, burning away his mind and dissolving his soul.

(Ghost Rider: Heaven's on Fire#6 - BTS) - Like all past Ghost Riders, the "English Knight Ghost Rider" was revived to take part in defending Heaven from both the rogue angel Zadkiel and then Kid Blackheart's demon army.

Comments: Created by Simon Spurrier and Javier Saltares.

The English Knight's story is told across three panels in Ghost Rider: Danny Ketch#3, but much of the detail above comes from the script / Ghost Rider Index, including his background, the ethnicity of the other Ghost Rider he slew and where this event took place, and that the Ghost Rider dying from an overload in the panel to the left is the same knight seen in the two prior panels. It also established that the Norse Ghost Rider was injured by arrows which left him near death and so vulnerable to the English Knight.

No proper name is given for this Ghost Rider in the script - he is simply known by his descriptor of being the English Knight.

CLARIFICATIONS:
The "English Knight Ghost Rider" is definitely connected to, but should not be confused with

but has no known connections to

"Norseman Ghost Rider"

The "Norseman Ghost Rider" was part of King Harald Haradwa's army who invaded northern England during 1066 AD. At the Battle of Stamford Bridge he was badly wounded by arrowfire, leaving him near death, and so easy prey for an English Ghost Rider fighting for King Harold Godwinson. The "English Knight Ghost Rider" stabbed his foe, then sucked the power from the Norseman, depowering him and almost certainly slaying him.
