History: (Avengers Academy#10 (fb) ) - A group of pro-Norman Osborn extremists acquired a number of knockoff Cobalt Man armors (while inferior to the original, they could still fly and project energy beams) and set out to turn the public against the super heroes who'd put their idol in prison. They kept an eye on the memorial fountain in Stamford, Connecticut, hoping to catch some of them there so they could make a scene - even though none of the Cobalt Men were actually from Stamford.

(Avengers Academy#10) - When Justice and Speedball took their Avengers Academy students to the memorial, the Cobalt Men attacked. Striker overloaded one Cobalt Man's suit with an electric blast, and an enraged Speedball took out the rest with a massive surge of kinetic energy. The unconscious Cobalt Men were hauled away by the police.

Comments: Created by Christos Gage, Sean Chen, and Scott Hanna.

The original Cobalt Man, of course, died in Stamford, along with several villains, three New Warriors, and hundreds of civilians, kicking off the Civil War.

Profile by Minor Irritant.
