History:

(Exiles I#86 (fb) - BTS ) - The Brotherhood of Mutants devised a plan to make Magneto even more powerful than she already was by transferring Wolverine's unbreakable Adamantium skeleton to that of Magneto. To do so, the Brotherhood captured Wolverine and restrained him in a magnetic force bubble while the Scarlet Warlock used his hex-powers to transfer the skeleton. However something went wrong with his spell, and all of the Brotherhood members merged with Wolverine, creating an entity who would become Brother Mutant.

(Exiles I#86 (fb) - BTS) - After gaining consciousness, he thought of several names such as Wolverito and Magnerine. Feeling he should represent the grandeur of Magneto and the ferocity of Wolverine he chose to settle on Brother Mutant. Next, seeking a mission as he felt his creation came with a purpose, he decided all of humankind should be extinguished.

(Exiles I#85 - BTS) - Brother Mutant caused so much destruction in Phoenix, Arizona that the town was renamed Dark Phoenix. His misdeeds attracted the attention of the Timebreakers, a race of insect-like beings who tried to fix broken worlds in the multiverse by sending teams of alternate reality heroes in to deal with the problem. The Timebreakers decided to intervene and sent a squad of alternate Wolverines to take on Brother Mutant, reasoning that the best way to fight a Wolverine was by using a Wolverine.

(Exiles I#85 (fb) - BTS) - The Timebreakers sent several waves of alternate Wolverines against Brother Mutant who easily beat them all. He then used Mesmero's hypnotism to force them to join his side, affectionally referring to every new recruit as "brother", like they were one big family.

(Exiles I#85) - The Timebreakers sent another team of Wolverines to Earth-127. But when the team was attacked and overrun by the legion of "Brothers Wolverine". Logan of Earth-811 (Days of Future Past) and young James from Earth-1880 managed to escape to the Panoptichron (the Timebreakers headquarters). There, Logan convinced the insect-like beings to bring back their original Exiles team to deal with Brother Mutant. On Earth-127, the Wolverines brought their prisoners before Brother Mutant who used his hypnotic powers on Patch of Earth-181.

(Exiles I#86 (fb) - BTS) - Brother Mutant sent the mind controlled Patch back to find his teammates who were still out in the ruined city, Patch destroyed Albert (Earth-5211) and decapitated the zombie Wolverine (Earth-6195). Elsie Dee managed to escape with the zombie's still talking head.

(Exiles I#86) - While addressing his troops, Brother Mutant gave a motivational speech in which he revealed the origin of his mission. The troops then prepared for their next assignment: killing all the remaining humans on Earth, starting in Las Vegas. At the same time, the Exiles had arrived on Earth-127 and quickly came up with a plan to stop Brother Mutant. Before the villain could leave with his troops, jam-packed in six busses he planned to fly to Vegas himself, the Exiles attacked. Sparing no lives, Brother Mutant hurled the busses towards the super heroes he just barely evaded the obstacles. In the end, Sabretooth flung Elsie Dee, still holding on to zombie Wolverine's head, towards Brother Mutant. The zombie bit him in the nose just as Elsie activated her self destruct device. While Brother Mutant easily survived the explosion, the zombie's bite had turned him into a member of the undead as well. In the end, he was killed by young James Howlett of Earth-1880 who went into a berzerker frenzy after seeing Logan of Earth-811 get killed. He sliced Brother Mutant into little pieces.

(Exiles I#86) - Brother Mutant's demise fixed the anomaly plaguing Earth-127. The Timebreakers returned all surviving Wolverines back to their native realities, counting seventeen lost during the battle.

CLARIFICATIONS:
Brother Mutant has no known connections to

Brotherhood of Mutants of Earth-127

The Brotherhood of Mutants devised a plan to make Magneto even more powerful than she already was by giving her Wolverine's unbreakable Adamantium skeleton. However, when they magically tried to transfer it to Magneto, something went wrong. As a result, all the Brotherhood members merged with Wolverine, creating a single entity called Brother Mutant.

Note: Unlike on Earth-616 Magneto and Quicksilver were female while the Scarlet Witch/Warlock was now male. Mesmero still appeared to be male.
