History:

(Blaze#8 (fb) - BTS) - Over 3000 years ago Amanuensis was a High Priestess of Baal. At some point she died, got mummified and put in a sarcophagus.

As the last remaining High Priest of Baal the unliving remains of Amanuensis waited for Baal's return to Earth. Around 3000 years later Baal's return to Earth was thwarted by Johnny Blaze. Despite Baal's failure Amanuensis awakened and planned to become Baal's foothold on Earth so he could fully manifest there again inside her own body. She also plotted to get revenge on Johnny Blaze for thwarting Baal's return and hired Arcade to murder him.

(Blaze#8) - With Amanuensis' unliving form still inside her sarcophagus Arcade travelled in his mobile Murder World rig to the Quentin Carnival. As the Mad Monk he applied for membership with Quentin Carnival and Blaze hired him after the Mad Monk showed him what he had inside the rig, including the electric chair Ice Box Bob was fried on and the sarcophagus of a High Priestess of Baal. Amanuensis got mad at Arcade for letting Blaze leave Murder World again. She pulled Arcade into her sarcophagus to punish him and the screaming was heard outside alerting Kody and Princess Python, who busted open the door to save the Mad Monk. Arcade asked Amanuensis for one more chance to deal with Blaze and she granted him the chance. When Kody and Princess Python arrived inside the rig Arcade knocked them out with gas and then trapped them inside his mobile Murder World. Blaze saw the rig transform and followed them inside to save them. Blaze confronted Arcade, who immediately told him to his employer, the priestess, if he wanted his friends back. Amanuensis was holding Kody and Princess Python captive and explained why she was doing this. Blaze cut her explanation short by shooting her a few times with his Hellfire shotgun. She lost her grip on Kody and Princess Python, screamed and the sarcophagus fell over. Blaze tossed Arcade inside the sarcophagus as well and slammed it shut with the priestess and Arcade inside. After locking the sarcophagus Blaze deactivated the mobile Murder World and told Wolf to drive it into the desert and leave it there.

Such big plans and Blaze didn't even care! Bang, Bang and goodbye High Priestess of Baal. Arcade soon turned up somewhere else, but Amanuensis was not seen again. Presumably the Hellfire shotgun finally put her to her rest.

You probably ask yourself why an Egyptian (and the hieroglyphs on her sarcophagus make it pretty clear she was Egyptian) would become a priestess of Baal? Baal was worshipped in Egypt since the 18th dynasty (ca. 1570 BC).

BTW amanuensis is an old term for a person employed to write or type what another dictates or to copy what has been written by another...she was basically named secretary.
