History:

(Micronauts I#30 (fb) - BTS) - Dr. Vandenburg theorized that an ancient unknown race had existed in India's Indus Valley and led a dig in Bahawalpur to find traces of it and to mark his crowning achievement after many years in archeology.

(Micronauts I#30) - Dr. Vandenburg began to despair that his search would not yield results when he was suddenly alerted by one of the local workers that they had found an ancient but small obelisk with script in an unknown language.

Later, Dr. Vandenburg presented his find to the scientific community at Empire State University in New York, declaring it to be evidence of civilization that exceeded current theories of human life by millions of years. He declared that he would devote his life to deciphering it. Amidst the rousing applause, Dr. Strange appeared and offered his assistance.

(Micronauts I#31 (fb) - BTS) - Dr. Vandenburg handed over the artifact tablet to Dr. Strange for him to study.

Comments: Created by Bill Mantlo (writer), Pat Broderick (pencils) and Danny Bulanadi (inks).

That Vandenburg would so easily relinquish what was the crowning achievement of his career to a stranger suggests to me that Dr. Strange mystically persuaded him to part with the ancient tablet, which gave details of the history of the Microverse.
