History: (Web of Spider-Man Annual #10/4 (fb) ) - Formerly a member of the criminal scientific brotherhood AIM, Resistor was kicked out for some unknown reason. Before he left, however, he stole several weapons blueprints. He either founded or recruited the Broken Skulls street gang to commit truck hijackings for him; he also put them to work, assembling the raw materials from the trucks into high-tech weapons, which he armed them with. He planned to become the underworld's foremost weapons supplier.

(Web of Spider-Man Annual #10/4) - Several Broken Skulls captured the Prowler, who had been trying to break up a truck hijacking, and brought him to the Resistor. He stripped the Prowler of his weapons, and, when he came to, explained his plans to him. He ordered the Skulls to kill the Prowler, but he immediately slipped out of his shackles and took down all of the Skulls using only his fists and a chain. Terrified, the Resistor blasted out of his armor and tried to flee via jetpack, but the Prowler soon caught up to him and destroyed the jetpack, sending him crashing to earth. The Prowler held up the Resistor, now shorn of his gear, to a young Skull, telling him that the Resistor, without his weapons, was all talk.

Comments: Created by Joey Cavalieri and Vince Giarrano.

A resistor is an electronics component; the Resistor has the symbol used to represent a resistor in circuit diagrams on his metal beanie.

Broken Skulls

(Web of Spider-Man Annual#10/4 (fb) ) - Ex-AIM scientist Resistor either founded or recruited the Broken Skulls street gang to commit truck hijackings for him; he also put them to work, assembling the raw materials from the trucks into high-tech weapons, which he armed them with.

(Web of Spider-Man Annual#10/4) - The Prowler intervened in one such hijacking, incapacitating several Skulls with gas. Recognizing one of the Skulls as a student at his brother Abe's karate dojo, he tried to scare him away from the gang, but a Skull got the drop on the Prowler and incapacitated him with an inner ear-disrupting weapon. The Skulls brought him to Resistor, where they were ordered to kill him; instead, the Prowler broke free, took down the Skulls, defeated the Resistor, and held up the defeated villain as an example to Abe's student, convincing him to return to the dojo.

The Broken Skulls were armed with a variety of high-tech firearms, including a rifle that affected its target's inner ear, throwing them off-balance.
