PHAGE SHIP

Classification: Extraterrestrial (Xenophage) technology

Creator: Xenophage race

User/Possessors: Jerry & Rocky, Phage

First Appearance: Venom: Tooth and Claw#1 (December, 1996)

Powers/Abilities/Functions: The Phage ship is capable of faster-than-light travel. Via a topological anomaly, it could compress itself to the size of a football without harming the living occupants inside; normally, it is approximately the size of a Chevy Lumina. Even when expanded, it was ten times as large inside as it was on the outside. It possessed an advanced tracking system capable of detecting symbiotes from light-years away.

History: (Venom: Tooth & Claw#1 (fb) ) - The alien Phage came to Earth via starship. While the Phage went out and hunted symbiotes, it stored its ship in a subway utility storage room.

(Venom: Tooth and Claw#1) - Skateboarders Jerry and Rocky accidentally stumbed across the football-sized spaceship when they crashed into the utility closet. They accidentally activated it, expanding it; intrigued, they went inside. Meanwhile, Donna Diego, a symbiote host who had narrowly escaped the Phage, tracked down the ship via the Phage's scent and also entered. Jerry accidentally compressed the ship and activated the tracker, sending it after Venom (Eddie Brock). It tracked him to the waiting room of extradimensional agency Landau, Luckman, & Lake, where it was blasted by LL&L agent Emmett, frying its control panel. The ship followed Venom, his reluctant ally Wolverine, and the Dark Rider Dirt Nap through a warp chamber.

(Venom: Tooth and Claw#2) - Emerging in the ether between realities, the compressed ship beaned Venom, completing its mission. It expanded and disgorged its three passengers. After Donna was consumed by Dirt Nap, Jerry and Rocky fled back to the ship and re-compressed it, only to be captured by extradimensional terrorist Chimera, who enveloped it in a force field, preventing it from expanding. Jerry and Rocky could only watch as Chimera destroyed the warp chamber, stranding them all in Chimera's realm.

(Venom: Tooth and Claw#3) - Wolverine tackled Chimera, making her drop the ship. While Chimera and Dirt Nap were sucked into a vortex, Jerry and Rocky figured out how to re-expand the ship, and took Venom, Wolverine, Emmett, Donna, NSA Agent Daryll Smith and Algernon (the latter two being disgorged victims of Dirt Nap) and escaped. Initially hopelessly lost, they set the ship's symbiote detector to track Carnage (Cletus Kasady), who they knew still resided on Earth. Jerry made the bickering Venom and Wolverine sit at opposite ends of the ship for the duration of their trip.

Man, look at that big smile. That ship is adorable.

It's probably safe to assume that LL&L took possession of the ship once they got home.
