History:

(Team America#2) – Contracted by Agent Marcus of Hydra, the assassin was tasked with killing the mysterious person known as the Marauder. As a test, Marcus sent a squad of Hydra agents against the killer, who managed to defeat them all via his martial arts skills and a cleverly hidden smoke bomb. Agent Marcus stopped one of his punches with one hand, impressed with his abilities. She gave him the information and sent him on his way to Colorado, where the team was participating in a relay race.

Arriving at Team America’s camp, the killer introduced himself and stated his goal. When Reddy and Wolf both rushed him, he easily flipped them aside, warning the team that he would strike again during the race. He then walked away. During the race, the killer, now outfitted with a Hydra attack sled, flew in and tried to kill Wolf, his reasoning being that the Marauder only showed up when members of Team America were in danger. Before he could land a killing blow, however, Cowboy jumped him and tied him to a tree. Later, after the race, the killer managed to cut himself free and headed back toward the Hydra base, unaware that the Marauder was following him. Captured, he was about to be executed to cover for Marcus' failure when the Marauder activated the base’s intercom, allowing Number One to hear of the failure and activate the base’s self-destruct sequence. In the panic that followed, the killer recovered his sled and flew skyward, outracing the explosion and the Marauder. He slipped away into the night.

Shame he was never given a proper name. Any ideas?

In the one decent shot of Number One’s face, he does bare a slight resemblance to Wilson Fisk.

Agent Marcus

Agent Marcus

A popular officer in Hydra, Agent Marcus was feared by Number One and given the assignment to capture the Marauder in the hopes she would fail. She planned to stage a coup regardless of her mission’s failure, banking on her popularity with the other agents. When the Marauder exposed her plot, she was caught in the base’s explosion. It is unrevealed if she survived.

Number One

Number One

The section leader for Hydra in the west, Number One kept careful tabs on Agent Marcus, fearing that she would try to replace him in the ranks. He tasked her with the goal of capturing the Marauder, figuring she would either fail outright (and be executed), or die in the attempt. He watched the drama unfold from a remote location.
