History:
(Giant-Size Marvel Adventures: The Avengers#1 (fb)) - 1958: "King" Kang ("the mightiest force in 1,712 timelines") approached the Agents of Atlas (Jimmy Woo, Gorilla Man, M-11, Marvel Boy, Namora, and Venus) and revealed to them the existence of Captain America, frozen into suspended animation in the Arctic Sea.

The Agents of Atlas traveled to the Arctic Sea and recovered the frozen super soldier from World War Two. M-11 defrosted him and they welcomed him to 1958.

The Agents of Atlas continued to deal with fantastic threats, Captain America and Kang alongside them.

(Giant-Size Marvel Adventures: The Avengers#1 - BTS) - 1959: Kang's instruments had detected a meteor shower racing towards Earth. The original Agents of Atlas set out to destroy it, but the celestial object had defied all readings, even Marvel Boy's. It turned out to be a traveling black hole, that pulled them in. Kang was able to redirect it, but he was too late to save the team.

All high technology in America was manufactured using KangTech processors.

   Steve Rogers was elected President.

Secret Identities Act was passed, outlawing nonregistered superhumans.

(Giant-Size Marvel Adventures: The Avengers#1) - The last days of Steve Rogers' two terms as President saw him presiding over a peaceful, unified world. As his final Executive Act, he nominated "future High Councilor Kang" to head the ruling body of the World Command.

Kang brought the Avengers (Captain America, Giant-Girl, Iron Man, Spider-Man, Storm, and Wolverine) from the present day of the universe from which he had forced the divergence. Captain America merged with his Presidential counterpart, and Iron Man an Giant-Girl found that their tech-derived powers were rendered imoperative by their lack of KangTech.

Storm, Spider-Man, and Wolverine traveled back in time to 1959, in order to prevent the Agents of Atlas from taking their fateful trip. They revealed Kang's perfidy to that era's Agents, and the teams together defeated Kang and his War Chariot. Storm opened a time portal, and the 1959-era Agents convinced their 1958-era counterparts not to rescue Captain America. As a consequence of their actions, the Avengers' original time line was restored.
