Powers/Abilities: Abby-L was infected with the Carrion virus, which gives her prodigious healing abilities and the ability to kill with a touch; it is unknown if she possessed the other powers bestowed upon later Carrion infectees, including levitation and telepathy. The virus was also apparently killing her.  She also carried a sniper rifle and was skilled in its use.

History: (Spider-Island: Deadly Foes#1/2 (fb) ) – Abby-L (“L” for “living”) was the Jackal’s first successful human clone.  Much like his first Peter Parker clone, Kaine, she was flawed, and at some point (possibly in an attempt to arrest her clone degeneration), she was infected with the Carrion virus.  Eventually, she made a deal with the Jackal to stay away from him if he would stop cloning Gwen Stacy.  Years later, the Queen, hoping to see whether the Jackal was worthy of aiding her in her plan to transform the world into a planet of spider-people, telepathically convinced her that the Jackal had violated their pact and had sinister new plans afoot.  With the Carrion Virus slowly killing her, Abby-L set out to destroy all the Jackal’s works before she died.

(Spider-Island: Deadly Foes#1/2) – Abby-L shot and killed the surviving Gwen Stacy clone with a sniper rifle in London, England.

(Spider-Island: Deadly Foes#1/2) – Abby-L arrived in the Jackal’s lab just in time for him to finish mutating the newly-reborn Kaine into the monstrous Tarantula.  She accused him of reneging on her deal, and he set the Tarantula on her.  She seemingly killed him with her death touch, enraging the Jackal, who slashed her with his poison-tipped claws; they had no effect on her, and she angered him further by telling him that she’d killed her remaining clone “sister”.  As they struggled, they set the lab ablaze, and a large piece of machinery fell on both of them.  The Tarantula’s new abilities allowed him to recover, and Abby-L tried to convince him to save her and leave the Jackal to die…but her attack had instead convinced Kaine that he finally had a home.  He rescued the Jackal and left his “sister” to die in the exploding lab.

Bad puns aside, though, Abby here is a delightful amalgam of disparate continuity fragments.  She's great, and she could totally come back - what comics character ever died in an explosion, anyway?
