(Thunderbolts Presents: Zemo - Born Better#1) - Hademar, son of Harbin Zemo, couldn't await his father's death to become the second Baron Zemo. Hademar who avoided military duties and secretly undermined his father's social reforms, wasn't seen as worthy to become the next Baron Zemo by his own father. One day Harbin made it obvious that he didn't like his cowardly son's advices and challenged him to a battle, but Hademar left without a fight.

Hademar's son Heller hung around with the time-displaced Helmut Zemo, whose true identity nobody knew. Hademar didn't like Helmut, who was called Leper by everyone. One night Hademar saw his son accompanied by the Leper and two guards. He slapped his son and got mad at the guards when they attempted to draw their swords against him, their future ruler. After threatening Helmut's life, Hademar attacked Heller's guards, killing one of them, to show Heller that a leader had the absolute power over his people's life and death and that leader's weren't granted their power by their people.

Weeks later Harbin died in bed and Hademar became the new Baron Zemo. During the crowning ceremony Hademar announced to a shocked audience that each night of the first month of his barony a virgin shall be brought to his room. At that moment his son entered with guardsmen the throne room and asked his father to step down as Baron or die. Hademar laughed at him with his guardsmen clearly outnumbering Heller's group, but Hademar's own guards turned against him, remembering Hademar's coldblooded murder of one of them, and Hademar was killed on his first official day as Baron Zemo.
