History:

(The Thing II#4) - Stealing from a horse-racing track, Shockjock was spotted by the Thing, who leapt to stop him but was thrust back by an electrical charge from Shockjock's suit. Overpowering the Thing, Shockjock pressed his gauntlets against the Thing's head, boasting that electrocuting the Thing and making a name for himself would be more valuable than a couple of stolen dollars. Halted mid-sentence by the Thing's ally Lockjaw, a chunk of Shockjock's suit was bitten off, shorting it out and giving the Thing an opportunity to recover and defeat his foe.

Comments: Created by Dan Slott (writer) and Andrea DiVito (artist).

The Thing suggested that Shockjock's name had something to do with the race tracks he was robbing, but that seems to have been coincidental.

Shockjock spoke with those Iron Man-type word bubbles, indicating some distortion to his voice. It's not clear what part of Shockjock's suit caused this (since his mouth was uncovered), but it possibly had something to do with the terawatt field surrounding it.
