(Civil War: Front Line#6/1) - An employee of the National Security Agency, Eric Marshall was working security at a Press Corps Christmas party when he hit on Sally Floyd, a reporter. He didn't tell her he had a wife and three kids.

(Civil War: Front Line#1/2 (fb) - BTS) - When a large explosion went off in Stamford, CT, killing hundreds, the government decided to push the Superhuman Registration Act (SHRA). One of the perpetrators, Speedball, was found alive in Stockton, New York, and Eric Marshall was sent to arrest him, after the doctors, including John, called for help.

(Civil War: Front Line#1/2) - Marshall introduced himself to the just awakening Speedball, who was still in a hospital bed, as a SHIELD agent working with the National Security Agency (NSA) in apprehending unregistered heroes. He explained that Speedball was the only survivor from Stamford, reported the total number of casualties, that Speedball had seemingly lost his powers, and that Speedball was under arrest.

(Civil War: Front Line#2/2) - Days later, Marshall approached Speedball, who was demanding a lawyer. He offered Speedball a chance to register willingly with the government and be forgiven his crimes, but Speedball refused.

(Civil War: Front Line#5/1) - Eric Marshall furiously stormed the Alternative newspaper with armed guards in order to gain information on sources from reporter Sally Floyd. Her editor Neil Crawford and she refused to cooperate, so he placed them both under arrest.

(Civil War: Front Line#6/1) - Marshall angrily questioned Sally behind a mirror and stormed in when she aggravated him. She got under his skin with details about his personal life, and offered her a deal when Mister Fantastic instructed him to do so.
