ISOMETRIC EXERCISER

Classification: Exercise machine

Creator: Reed Richards (with assistance from the Thing)

User/Possessors: The Thing (Ben Grimm)

First Appearance: Fantastic Four I#237 (December, 1981)

Powers/Abilities/Functions: The isometric exerciser was constructed of steel-coated Adamantium barbells magnetically connected to two super electro-magnets. The harder the user lifted, the stronger the pull from the magnets.

History:

(Fantastic Four I#237 (fb) - BTS) - Reed Richards developed the isometric exerciser so that the Thing could exercise. The Thing was about to try it out but the team was kidnapped by Dr. Doom.

(Fantastic Four I#237) - After the adventure, the Thing, accompanied by Alicia Masters, returned to his gym containing his exercise equipment designed by Reed Richards and the Thing. The rocky hero initially admired the design and concept of the isometric exerciser, but had trouble lifting against the magnets. He strained until he accidentally tore the magnets out of the floor.
