First Appearance: Nova I#10 (June, 1977)

Powers/Abilities: The Firefly costume contained calorific circuitries which enabled him to set things on fire by simple contact and also hurl flames at short distance (at least 30 feet). It also provided good protection against heat and flame.

head shotHistory: (Nova I#10 - BTS) - Firefly destroyed some power plants and Nova tried to stop him. They met and fought each other but Firefly always succeeded in fleeing.

(Nova I#10) - Firefly set the nuclear station of Westhaven on fire. Nova managed to reach and attack him. Firefly was hit by a flying punch but held Nova back by setting him on fire. Nova's suit could easily resist the heat, so Nova grabbed Firefly and flew with him into a little lake nearby. Firefly's costume was short-circuited by contact with the water; a punch from Nova rendered him unconscious. Police arrived to arrest the criminal.

Later, when Nova was entrapped by the Condor's mobile "energy field", Nova flew to the jail the now costumeless Firefly was held in, and asked him to use the Firefly uniform to melt the energy field (before Rider could suffocate since the field was airtight). Firefly laughed in his face and refused.

(Power Man & Iron Fist#105 (fb) - BTS) - Firefly went to prison but succeeded in breaking out and soon re-started his old career as an arsonist. Power Man and Iron Fist were hired to stop Firefly.

(Power Man & Iron Fist#105) - Firefly, trying to set another building on fire, was intercepted by Power Man & Iron Fist. Surprised, he managed to hold back the two heroes with his flame powers for a while, but suddenly Crime-Buster shot fire-extinguishing foam at him, neutralizing his flames. Then a heavy net was flung over him, wrapping around and immobilizing Firefly. Crime-Buster picked Firefly up, despite Power Man's and Iron Fist's complaints, and transported Firefly to the nearest police station.
