History: (What If? I#34/31) - Howard the Duck decided to form his own super-team, which he tentatively called the Animals. When danger reared its ugly head, he yelled "Animals (or whatever) Assemble!"
Comments: Created by Dan O'Neill and Alan Kupperberg.
This reality diverged when Howard the Duck formed his own superteam, unlike Earth-616 where that never happened.
