History: (What If? I#34/1) - Instead of sending themselves into outer space, Reed Richards and his associates sent bananas into space. Once in orbit, the bananas were bombarded with cosmic rays and when they returned, the bananas displayed super-banana abilities. One banana was on fire, another turned orange and rocky, another became completely invisible, and the fourth could stretch. The bananas soon became known as the Fantastic Four. The idea of super-powered bananas was patently absurd, it had a certain appeal.

This reality diverged when Reed Richards opted to send bananas into space instead of himself and his friends.
This reality was designated Earth-82801 in Marvel Encyclopedia Vol. 6: Fantastic Four.
