History: (Spidey Super Stories#50/5) - Sando and Omar first appeared in public, with Sando proclaiming “My dummy Omar, will tell you the future!” His predictions were of fog, two cars coming, and an earthquake. Smoke (or at least Spider-Man said it was smoke) filled the air from an unknown source. Whipping up some web fans, Spidey cleared the air just as Omar’s second prediction came to pass. The cars almost collided, but Spider-Man was able to save them, mainly by leaping in between the two and letting them crash into him.

The prediction about the earthquake came to pass when the street shook and the Earth rumbled. The crowd that had gathered fled in a panic as the street rolled around them, leaving only Sando and Omar to stroll casually into a now deserted jewelry store. Sando boasted to his henchmen: “I scared the people away…while you broke into the store. No one will see us rob it!” Of course, this hardly explains how an earthquake hit New York City, or if it was Sando who conjured up the earthquake.

Spider-Man and Easy Reader, on the other hand, were not cowed by these displays of power and rushed into the jewelry store. A short and utterly unspectacular battle followed, with Omar being ousted as a real human and not a dummy while the gang was completely covered head to toe in webbing. Spider-Man and Easy Reader stood tall as the gang, with no sign of being webbed, was hustled into the back of a police paddy wagon.

CLARIFICATIONS:
Sando and Omar have no known connections to

Omar

Omar’s past is unknown. He was part of Sando’s gang and posed as a ventriloquist’s dummy. He attempted to flee from the scene of the crime after Spider-Man and Easy Reader figured out their scheme to scare people from a jewelry store so they could rob it. His short stubby legs were sadly no use against Easy Reader, who easily snatched him up with one hand and turned him over to the police.
