VORTEX BOMB
Classification: Terrestrial technology
Creator: Unrevealed, presumably Hydra scientists
User/Possessors: Agents of Hydra
First Appearance: Fantastic Four Annual I#3 (October, 1965)
Powers/Abilities/Functions: When detonated, the Vortex Bomb generated cyclonic forces powerful enough to destroy an entire skyscraper.
History:
(Fantastic Four Annual I#3 / Marvel: Heroes & Legends I#1) - As Reed
Richards and Susan Storm prepared for their wedding at the Baxter
Building, a number of villains influenced by Dr. Doom's Emotion
Charger (including agents of Hydra) attacked the proceedings.
The Hydra agents drove a truck bearing a Vortex Bomb powerful enough to destroy the Baxter Building. However, Daredevil (Matt Murdock) intercepted the truck, fought off all the Hydra agents, then turned the truck towards the Hudson River.
When Daredevil reached the river, he drove the truck off a pier before leaping away.
The bomb detonated underwater and created a maelstrom that decimated the forces of Attuma, who had been on their way to attack the Baxter Building.
Comments: Created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby.
