History: (Iron Fist III#3 (fb) - BTS) - Malik Shippinsky, agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., was assigned to work for Joy Meachum in order to keep an eye on the family's business. He worked with them for years. When the evil Death Sting and Sharyd were seeking to steal the Scorpio Key, an artifact in S.H.I.E.L.D. custody, Shippinsky was assigned to watch for Iron Fist, a likely candidate to seek retrieval of the Key.

(Iron Fist III#1) - Shippinsky took a plane from New York to San Francisco, keeping an eye on Iron Fist. When a sniper tried to killed Iron Fist at the airport, Shippinsky led him out of the airport where Joy Meachum waited to drive them away. They narrowly evaded pursuing cars and a helicopter, but Iron Fist stopped the pursuers before battling Scimitar. Sharyd approached, enticing Iron Fist to steal the Scorpio Key from S.H.I.E.L.D., receiving the whereabouts of his kidnapped sister (secretly Death Sting) in return.

(Iron Fist III#2) - Iron Fist battled Sharyd until Scimitar kidnapped Joy, holding her hostage. Malik flew Iron Fist to where the Scorpio Key was, and waited in the ship while Iron Fist retrieved it. Shippinsky waited in the ship while Iron Fist went to trade the key for his sister. Miranda Rand joined Shippinsky at the ship soon.

(Iron Fist III#3) - Sharyd knocked Shippinsky aside and re-kidnapped Miranda. When Iron Fist confronted Shippinsky, he identified him as a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, able to tell because Shippinsky smoked the same kind of cigars that Nick Fury did. Joy was furious at Shippinsky for his deceit all those years.  The three of them tracked Death-Sting by the tracer Shippinsky had placed on her costume, and flew in on hang gliders, interrupting Death Sting and Sharyd's meeting with Sss'Lethcott of the H'ylthri. It was revealed that Sss'Lethcott was trying to use the Scorpio Key to revive his people, and that he was forcing Death Sting and Sharyd to do his will. Death Sting turned on the H'ylthri, and all the villains were seemingly killed. Shippinsky retrieved the key and departed.

Comments: Created by Dan Jurgens, Jackson Guice, and Scott Koblish.

Malik Shippinsky uses lots of bizarre words like disemplane, locomotivotion, gunsels, cerebrobellum, adrenanatalin, faulterior, abscondogate, and integranimity. Only he knows what they really mean, or why the #(!$ he does that.
