History:
(Squadron Supreme I#8 (fb) - BTS) - The past of the Rustler is largely unrevealed, but he was an enemy of the Whizzer, and was one of the speedster's earliest foes in his crime-fighting career.

(Squadron Supreme I#8) - After the Squadron Supreme had instituted a new world order of behavior-modifying criminals and removing weapons, the Rustler joined with another foe of the Whizzer--Bollix--in stealing a pair of the force field belts the Squadron had provided to the populace for protection.

The pair robbed a bank and made off with the money, only to encounter the Whizzer. Once the Whizzer realized they were using force field belts, he simply dribbled them from outside the force field, all the way to the local police station.

Rustler and Bollix were placed into a cell together, still wearing their force fields. They gloated that no one could touch them, so they were immune to the Squadron's behavior-modifying; but the Whizzer observed that the force belts had only 96 hours of power, and that the two villains would have to turn them off long before then in order to get food; the Whizzer then left them with the police.

Comments: Created by Mark Gruenwald, Bob Hall and Sam De La Rosa.

Since he was a cowboy-themed criminal, Rustler may be the equivalent of the old Superman foe Terra-Man, the space cowboy.
