First Appearance: Squadron Supreme#8 (April, 1985)

Powers/Abilities: Bollix wore a padded costume. Although his ordinary gimmicks as a super-criminal are not known, he once wore a force field belt, which granted him a personal force field.

History: (Squadron Supreme#8 (fb) - BTS) - Bollix was an enemy of the Whizzer, and was one of his earliest foes in his crimefighting career.

(Squadron Supreme#8) - After the Squadron Supreme had instituted a new world order of behavior-modifying criminals and removing weapons, Bollix joined with another foe of the Whizzer-- the Rustler--in stealing a pair of the force field belts the Squadron had provided to the populace for protection. The pair robbed a bank and made off with the money, only to encounter the Whizzer. Once the Whizzer realized they were using force field belts, he simply dribbled them from outside the force field, all the way to the local police station.

Rustler and Bollix were placed into a cell together, still wearing their force fields. They gloated that no one could touch them, and that they were immune to the Squadron's behavior-modifying, but the Whizzer observed that the force belts had only 96 hours of power, and that they would have to turn them off long before then in order to get food. He left them with the police.

Since "bollix" is a synonym for "fumble"...
...and since "fumble" is a term used in the game of football...
...and since his costume is slightly reminiscent to a football player's...
...maybe Bollix is a former football player (or the Earth-S equivalent thereof) who uses a sports motif to commit his crimes (much like the old DC Comics character The Sportsmaster).
