History: (Sub-Mariner II#2 (fb)) - The men who would become the Mad Twins lived in Atlantis's poverty-stricken outer realm.  At some point they and others formed a rebellion, and the Mad Twins became rebel leaders.

(Sub-Mariner II#4 (fb)) - The Mad Twins, and other rebel leaders, made contact with Jacqueline Trufaut, a surface woman who had discovered mystic artifacts that would empower their users.  Trufaut sought revenge on Namor, and offered to empower the rebel leaders in their cause.  She gave the Mad Twins a mystic chain that allowed them to grow to giant size and become super strong.  The Mad Twins were patterned after the children of Neptune, Otus and Ephialtes.  Trufaut also empowered Dragonrider and Proteus.

(Sub-Mariner II#3 (fb)) - Jacqueline, in her plot to destroy Namor, had the Mad Twins stage a kidnapping of her from the United Nations.

(Sub-Mariner II#3) - When Namor rushed to save Jacqueline, the Mad Twins seized him from the air and fiercely battled him until they feigned defeat and fled.  Later, when Namor was addressing the United Nations, the Mad Twins kidnapped Jacqueline once again, swatting  Namor aside when he tried to rescue her.

(Sub-Mariner II#4) - The Mad Twins gathered at Pontus with Dragonrider (on one of her dragons), Trufaut, and Proteus (in the form of Namor) for final battle with Namor.  When Namor arrived, thinking Trufaut kidnapped, Namor battled the villains and was knocked aside by each of them. Namor soon defeated Trufaut, and the fate of the Mad Twins is unknown.

Comments: Created by J.M. DeMatteis, Bob Budiansky, and Danny Bulanadi.

The Mad Twins never spoke in either of their appearances and were never clearly named.  The 'Mad Twins' name comes from Namor's surmising that they were patterned after the Mad Twin sons of Neptune.  They were also called the Twin Giants by Namor.
