Powers/Abilities: Gorgul possessed the greater strength and ability to breathe underwater that the members of his race possessed. He carried a sword and hammer into battle.
History:
(Sub-Mariner I#4) - When
Attuma tried to rally his forces against the Atlanteans, Gorgul shouted
out that he would not follow a coward into battle. Gorgul stated
that he should be warlord, and challenged Attuma to a death-duel.
Attuma responded by hitting Gorgul in the face with a thrown
hammer. The blow left Gorgul almost toothless, brain-addled, and
partially blind. Attuma let Gorgul live as an example of what
would happen to those who defy him. Attuma soon enslaved the
nomadic Atlanteans. When Attuma, in electric-powered armor, was
battling Namor in a solo battle to determine the fate of the
Atlanteans, Gorgul was disgusted by his honorless leader. He used
all of his strength to free Dorma from her cell and told her how to
disarm Attuma's armor. Gorgul then fainted from loss of blood and
passed on. Dorma was able to short out Attuma's armor, and Namor
rescued his people. Saru-San reflected over Attuma's blindness
over Gorgul's body.

Although Gorgul is only a one-shot character, he played a crucial role in the story and I figured he deserved his own space on this site.
