History: (Kid Colt, Outlaw#107 (fb)) - While traveling to another galaxy, the "giant monster's" ship was struck by a comet, and it crashed towards Earth. The monster bailed out aboard a rocket-powered escape chute.

(Kid Colt, Outlaw#107) - The ship crashed near Midnight Mountain in Midnight Valley, Texas, and the monster landed his chute nearby so that he could attempt to contact others of his race. He encountered the outlaw Kid Colt in the valley and pursued him, frightening Colt at first. The monster finally explained to Colt that it was peaceful, and Colt believed him. However, Colt was being pursued by a posse, which soon caught up to him. But they were frightened by the monster, opening fire on them. Colt tried to explain that the creature was friendly, but as he stood up, he was shot in the chest.

The monster was moved by Colt's sacrifice for him, and used his life-giving lotion to restore Colt to life, repairing his injury. Just as the posse began to move in, members of the monster's race arrived, and he boarded their ship. Although he knew that no one would remember his being in Midnight Valley, the monster felt that someone should know of the bravery of Kid Colt.

Nearly a century later, the monster visited the offices of Marvel Comics, and gave Stan Lee a transcription of what Kid Colt had done for him so that it would not be forgotten. Lee had the story adapted into his comics.
