History:

(Marvel Comics Presents I#51/4) - Ellis led an undercover operation to stop Stane International from selling weapons to the Iranians or Iraqis. Le Peregrine stopped the tanker filled with undercover agents and then flew to surveillance station he was hired to destroy. Peregrine was captured by Admiral Ellis who had waited near the station on the U.S.S. Cochrane. Ellis told Peregrine that Silver Sable International had been hired by Stane International to destroy this station and that they sold weapons to both sides in this conflict. Ellis also told Peregrine about the plan Peregrine screwed up for them. Peregrine fled from Ellis' ship, destroyed the surveillance station and then finished Ellis' job by seeking out and destroying Stane International's tankers as well.

To clarify:
Stane sold weapons to both sides.
Ellis was trying to stop Stane.
Stane hired Silver Sable to destroy a surveillance station Ellis wanted to use for an ambush.
Silver Sable sent Peregrine to do the job.
Peregrine stopped the Ellis' undercover agents and then went to the surveillance station.
Ellis captured Peregrine and revealed the situation.
Peregrine nonetheless did his job and destroyed the station.
Peregrine then destroyed Stane's ship too. 
Peregrine is an #$%^!
