History:
(Marvel Comics Presents I#100/1) - Tinner and his team were hired by Dr.
Doom to build a device that could prevent Doom from having nightmares.
Tinner couldn't do it, but at least he made a fail-safe which allowed
Doom to awaken from his nightmares. Doom wasn't satisfied with this,
and Tinner immediately offered to take his own life, but Doom had other
plans. He made a "Monk of Doom" Tinner's supervisor and told Tinner
that he would be punished later.(Marvel
Comics Presents I#100/2-4 - BTS) - Under the Monk's supervision Ghost
Rider and Wolverine were captured and a device was built by Tinner to
unite them with Doom in a nightmare.

The unidentified Monk was from the same order that was slaughtered in Fantastic Four III#3 by Crucible.

demon Nightmare and frustrated by the failures of his agent Dr. Tinner,
Doom summoned an unidentified member of the "Wise Ones" / "Monks of Doom" from Tibet to aid in
resolving the issue. (Marvel
Comics Presents I#100/1) - After Doom suffered another nightmare, he
confronted Tinner, denying his offer to take his own life and instead
directing him to continue his work under the supervision of "this one"
(the acolyte/monk). Doom
instructed the monk not to fail him as he wanted results before his
next sleep, and the monk assured him, "Of course, master. All is
already underway." (Marvel
Comics Presents I#100/2-3 (fb) - BTS) - The Monk ordered -- via
combat drones -- the capture of Ghost Rider (Dan Ketch/Noble Kale) and
Wolverine (James Howlett/Logan), who were both immune to Nightmare's
powers.

killed by a backlash of fear energy when Nightmare confronted Doom, Ghost Rider, and Wolverine. (Marvel Comics Presents I#100/4) - Doom woke up and wanted to punish the Monk for failing him,
but the Monk was already dead.
