First Appearance:
Hostess Twinkies ad "Spider-Man and the Demolition
Derby" (1979)
Powers/Abilities: The Demolition Derby wore a derby hat which he used as an offensive throwing weapon. He could throw with enough force to smash bricks off of walls and throw it in such a way that it would return to him.
History: Spider-Man ran into the Demolition Derby as he was in the act of stealing the Faith Diamond from Spiffany's. As the bowler-brigand attacked him, Spidey was able to deflect the hat with his webbing and then throw down some packages of Hostess Twinkies. The tasty snack drew the Derby's attention until police arrived to arrest him.

By the way, Demolition Derby was bald under that hat.
Normally, we do not
publish incomplete profiles, but I've been waiting on more information
concerning the date of publication for this story for months now. I've
got it down to 1979, but that's it, and none of the '79 books I own
have the ad. If you know a sample issue this was in, please pass it
along to us. Thanks - Madison.
Of all the Hostess villains, only Icemaster has shown up in an Earth-616 title. He could have crossed over to Earth-616 from "Earth-Hostess," but I say leave them on Earth-616 until proven otherwise. Nonetheless, until they do show up in regular continuity, they remain outside regular canon. Surely someone will write a story teaming them all together.---Snood.
This is not true anymore as some Hostess ad villains were mentioned in the Fantastic Four Encyclopedia as natives of Earth-616. And lets not forget about Printout Man in the New Avengers Most Wanted Files.
You can get the whole story, and some clever commentary from Seanbaby's The Hostess Page. It might not meet with the Comics Code Authority's approval, so kids, ask your parents before checking that out!---Kyle
Holy....I checked out the 'Hostesspage' for this
profile...this looks like it's by Frank Miller!! Frank did a Hostess
ad?! And it looks like it's inked by Josef Rubenstein or maybe Janson
but hard to tell without a larger file.
