History:
(Marvel Comics Presents I#102/4) - Ms. Torrence went on a trip to the La Brea Tar Pits with her class. She got lost with three students who slipped away to eat some ice-cream. Hamilton Slade met her and talked to her until Torrence's tour guide found her again. Together with her students she went outside to the tar pit were the bones suddenly became shadowy mammoths again. They got saved from their attack by Slade who turned into Phantom Rider. The tour guide turned out to be D'Spayre who fed on Ms. Torrence's and her students' fear. Phantom Rider asked Ms. Torrence if she and her students liked the hologram show and their fear was gone. Phantom Rider could defeat the weakened D'Spayre and even got a kiss from Ms. Torrence who knew that Phantom Rider was lying about a show, but she was thankful that he took away the fear from the kids.
