STARSTEALTH

MEMBERSHIP: Major Kalum Lo, Bo’Sun Stug Bar, Zamsed, others unnamed

PURPOSE: Avenging the defeat of the Kree empire via the destruction of humanity

AFFILIATIONS: A reprogrammed Rigellian Recorder

ENEMIES: Avengers (Black Widow, Crystal, Giant-Man, Hercules, Quicksilver, Vision), Force Works (Century, Iron Man, Scarlet Witch, Spider-Woman, USAgent, Wonder Man), Scatter, War-Crimes Tribunal

BASE of OPERATIONS: Presumably some intergalactic prison;
    formerly the Vault (B.E.M. Bug-Eyed Monster) wing, Rocky Mountains, Colorado;
    formerly mobile throughout space in the Retribution ship

FIRST APPEARANCE:
(In shadows): Avengers West Coast#102 (January, 1994);
(Seen and named): Force Works#1 (July, 1994)

Powers/Weapons: Pre-Ruul Blue Kree (purebreds) have roughly twice human strength and endurance, with relatively more dense bodies. They cannot breathe Earth's atmosphere without a special apparatus or chemical. White Kree (hybrids with other humanoid races) may vary somewhat in their physical abilities. All have military training in armed and unarmed combat and have access to advanced transportation and weaponry.

HISTORY:
(Force Works#1 (fb) - BTS/ #13 (fb) - BTS) - In the final days of the Kree-Shi'ar War, Kalum Lo led the Starstealth to assault a number of other alien races to ensure that the Kree were not the only ones to suffer from the war.

(Force Works#14 (fb) - BTS) - At some point the Starstealth located a Rigellian Recorder robot, reprogrammed by unknown parties with orders for the Starstealth: to locate and exterminate the architects of Hala's destruction: Wonder Man and the Vision.

(Force Works#1 (fb) - BTS) - Afterwards, Lo put his entire crew into cryogenic suspension aboard the starship Retribution as they slowly headed towards Earth.

(Force Works#13 (fb) - BTS) - The Starstealth designed and/or acquired Warsuits composed of hybridized Sentry robots, captured weaponry munitions spares, and other battle junk.  The Warsuits were stored in a freight yard in Chatwin Falls, Colorado as a failsafe in case their initial mission was a failure.

(Force Works#1) - Shortly after awakening, Lo ordered the Starstealth to assault Palos Verde's Avengers Compound, the former base of the Avengers West Coast. They unleashed an ion cannon, which threatened to cause an ionic overload in Wonder Man and melt the Vision. Wonder Man flew into space and assaulted the Retribution, deactivating the ion cannon, while the combined efforts of Black Widow, the newly formed Force Works, and Century, who arrived in mid-flight defeated the Starstealth. However, the Scatter then arrived just outside Earth's atmosphere, their spores pelting the already crippled Retribution and rupturing the main power cells of the ion cannon. Wonder Man flew the Ion Cannon deep into space and had his ionic form dispersed by the cannon's explosion.

(Force Works#12 (fb) - BTS) - The Starstealth were placed in the Vault, in the B.E.M. (Bug-Eyed Monster) wing, were alien prisoners were held.

(Force Works#2-11 - BTS) - The Recorder, his true loyalties unrevealed, stayed with Force Works, orchestrating dramas to study and ingest, include conflicts involving the Mandarin and Slorenia.

(Force Works#12) - After Force Works learned of the Recorder's true loyalties, they sent it to the Vault. Meanwhile, Kalum Lo met with Stug Bar, informing him of his plans.

(Force Works#13 (fb) - BTS) - The Black Widow negotiated with an interstellar War-Crimes Tribunal to extradite the crew of the Starstealth for trial.

(Force Works#13) - The Recorder's programming took over the Vault's security systems, locking out the guards and allowing the crew of the Starstealth to escape. Though Kalum Lo and several others were captured by Force Works, and the Recorder was incapacitated by Iron Man; Stug Bar, Zamsed, and two others escaped, reclaimed their Warsuits, and prepared for battle.

(Force Works#14) - A joint group composed of members of the Avengers and Force work tracked and opposed the armored Starstealth members. The other half of the Avengers and Force Works accompanied the War-Crimes Tribunal agents to the Skrull Tribunal ship, where the Recorder was being analyzed. Hercules overpowered one of the armored Kree, who set off his armor's self-destruct mechanism, killing himself, but taking Hercules out of the fight. Crystal managed to drop a second of the Kree. However, the Recorder revived once again, took control of the ship, and beamed up the still active Starstealthers, Stug Bar and Zamsed, aboard the Tribunal Ship. After some struggle, Wanda incapacitated Stug Bar and Century took out Zamsed.
    After the Recorder revealed its history, the Scarlet Witch managed to completely destroy the robot.
    The Starstealth were turned over to the War-Crimes Tribunal.

A Bo'sun is a petty officer on a merchant ship who controls the work of other seamen.

Thanks to Gauntlet, Dark Rider for pointing out the Avengers West Coast#102 appearance I had missed.

CLARIFICATIONS:

Major Kalum Lo

Commander of the Starstealth, his face was corrupted by cryo-trauma from his suspended animation, leaving his forehead covered with deep cracks. He led the stashing or the Warsuits, the assault on Avengers Compound, and the escape from the Vault. He was recaptured by Force Works, but had split the Starstealth in half, allowing Stug Bar to lead the second group to escape.

Bo'sun Stug Bar

Chief petty officer, his throat had been torn out during the mutiny that had led to his transfer to the Starstealth. He uses a synthetic larynx and serves as second-in-command to Kalum Lo. He led the group that obtained the Warsuits and assaulted the Tribunal Ship, but was defeated by the Scarlet Witch, who caused his gun to backfire on him.

His armored form is on the far right of the above picture.

Zamsed

Not clearly seen without his armor (he is one of the three pictured behind Stug Bar here), he piloted the walking Sentry-head assault weapon and was eventually defeated by Century.
