History: (Strange Tales I#136) - After Hydra agents had cornered Nick Fury at a barbershop which they believed to be the headquarters of S.H.I.E.L.D., Section Leader B confronted the Imperial Hydra with the news. The Imperial Hydra put him in charge of the operation, and had him remove his hood, so that if he failed, he would not be able to hide from his replacement.

Section Leader B sent in a squad of assassins to take the S.H.I.E.L.D. Headquarters, but they were tricked by Nick Fury into entering a booby-trapped warehouse, and they were all captured. The Imperial Hydra then confronted Section Leader B, and told him that it was time for him to face his replacement. Section Leader B was surrounded by Hydra agents, and told that his replacement was not armed-- if he could pick him out, he would live. Section Leader B saw that one of them didn't have a holster and picked him, but the agent had his gun concealed in his hand. Section Leader B complained that he had been tricked, but his replacement shot and killed him. He was then sworn in by Imperial Hydra as the new Section Leader B.

Comments: Created by Stan Lee, Jack Kirby and John Severin.
The other Section Leader B created by Tony Isabella, Don Perlin and Vince Colletta.

Section Leader B's men were also known as "Hydra-Hunters." I don't know which of the Imperial Hydra's divisions they would have fit into. Leopards (Reconnaissance)?

According to Tony Isabella, the Section Leader B from Giant-Size Creatures#1 was not the same one from Strange Tales I#136-- true to the original story, the replacement Section Leader B was eventually killed by yet another successor.

CLARIFICATIONS:
Section Leader B should not be confused with:

The Replacement Section Leader B

Section Leader B's replacement was supposedly unarmed, and Section Leader B was told that if he could pick him out from a crowd, he would live, but his replacement actually had a gun concealed in the palm of his hand. The replacement shot Section Leader B, and was then sworn in as the new Section Leader B by the Imperial Hydra.

Another Section Leader B

Another Section Leader B who served in Silvermane's Hydra was responsible for gathering a force of Hydra agents who kidnapped Dr. Marie Tumolo and the other Cat People to ransack one of their bases to find their sample of the Black Plague. He temporarily captured Tigra, but she was freed by the Werewolf, and Dr. Tumolo released the Black Plague, killing Section Leader B and his men.
