History: (2001: A Space Odyssey#10) - Judge Franklin Fields met Mr. Machine when his grandson and daughter picked him up on the road and brought him home. When Mr. Machine introduced himself as Aaron Stack, the son of Abel Stack, Fields mentioned that Dr. Stack had died recently, which Mr. Machine had not been aware of. Seeing that Mr. Machine was overcome by this information, he offered to help comfort him, but they were interrupted by the arrival of members from the Brotherhood of Hades. One of them wore explosives around his neck and threatened to detonate them unless Mr. Machine turned himself over to them. Mr. Machine was forced to comply.

After Mr. Machine had beaten the Brotherhood, he used their computer Mind Master to render the explosives worn by the agent in the Fields' house inert. Judge Fields tied the man up, and had Olivia phone the police.

Comments: Created by Jack Kirby and Mike Royer.

Jerry made references to Nick Fury, HYDRA, Avengers, Fantastic Four, and Dr. Doom as comic book characters in this story, indicating that Kirby hadn't intended Mr. Machine to be a part of the regular Marvel Universe.
