History:
(Marvel Comics Presents I#80/2 (fb) - BTS) - X-4 was an FBI agent assigned to investigate the masked criminal Wargod. X-4 enlisted the retired agent Jake Bage to assist him in the investigation as they sought to discover Wargod's true identity. While Jake investigated the suspects General Hagert and Senator Weason, X-4 followed a lead which led him to an exclusive body health club. However, Wargod learned of Jake's investigation and killed him, then destroyed all of his evidence.
(Marvel Comics Presents I#80/2) - Captain America found Jake's body and learned from a recording Jake left behind that Wargod was connected to Able Electronics and that X-4 was also in on the investigation. When X-4 learned of Jake's death he was at loose ends, uncertain where to go next. However, Wargod was on X-4's trail as well and came with her foot soldiers to attack X-4 at a house (apparently some kind of safehouse).
Captain America arrived at the house in time to save X-4's life and X-4 fled the house through a secret exit. After evading Wargod and her men, Captain America met with X-4 and learned about his lead on the health club. Captain America agreed to take over the investigation and stop Wargod.

CLARIFICATIONS:
X-4 should not be confused with:
Jake Bage was a semi-retired FBI agent who collaborated with X-4 in an investigation into the masked criminal Wargod. Jake had also been an ally to Captain America in the past. Jake investigated General Hagert and Senator Weason and he determined Wargod was connected with Able Electronics and alerted Captain America to meet with him but before he could delve any further into his investigation his office was raided by Wargod, who killed him, then destroyed all of his files. Captain America arrived too late to save Jake but found a recording Jake had hidden inside a statue on the wall of his office which told Captain America X-4 was still working on the case and pointed him at Able Electronics.
