Powers/Abilities: Although
only shown as a werewolf, he
presumably shifted
between human
and werewolf form, becoming werewolf during a full moon
(at least; or perhaps becoming most dangerous during the full moon).
Regardless, in werewolf form, he was a savage predator and killer.
As a werewolf, he was more wolf than man in form, although his forelimbs were close to arms than a wolf's forelimbs, and he ran on all fours, had enlarged canine teeth and sharp claws. He presumably possessed low-level superhuman ("enhanced human") strength, speed, durability, agility, reflexes, stamina, and senses.
He presumably had enhanced olfactory
senses and night vision.
Like most werewolves, he was likely
immune to a steel, but he could certainly be injured or slain by silver.
He may have been vulnerable other magical assaults,
and possibly to wolfsbane, etc.
His bites and scratches transformed other into werewolves.
Around his neck he wore the amulet given to him by his father; it is unrevealed whether this influenced his transformations, gave him conscious awareness and/or control of his activities, etc.

History:
((Sword of) Solomon Kane#2 (fb) - BTS) - Marta
and her brother were given twin amulets by their father.
((Sword of) Solomon Kane#2 (fb) - BTS) - Allegedly an evil warlock, Marta's brother reportedly vowed vengeance on her for using her skills to aid the sick.
((Sword of) Solomon Kane#2 (fb) - BTS) - Marta's brother was afflicted with lycanthropy (he became a werewolf). Although Marta believed she could help with this affliction, he refused her aid.
((Sword of) Solomon Kane#2 (fb) - BTS) - Marta's brother vowed vengeance on her for using her skills to aid the sick.

of) Solomon Kane#2) - Marta's brother, in werewolf form, stalked and
attacked Marta's son, Justin, as he was returning home with the day's
catch.
Having been drawn to the region by his wanderlust following his return form Africa, Puritan adventurer Solomon Kane (an old friend of the Cabel's) heard the sounds of the struggle and rushed on horseback to the conflict, at which point he leapt from atop his horse to tackle the seeming wolf. As the werewolf spun to face him, Kane slashed its face with his silver-coated rapier. The werewolf screamed in pain and turned away again, but Kane grabbed around its neck and told it to howl all it would, as it would not save it. Kane then beheaded it with his rapier.
Not having seen each other in at least a decade, neither Justin nor Solomon recognized the other, and Justin fled, despite Solomon's assurance that the danger was passed and his offer to tend to his wound.
Turning
to find the wolf he had slain to
now be in the form of a decapitated man, Solomon realized that this
must be a werewolf of which he had heard legends. Considering this to
be the work of Satan (see comments),
Kane
asked God to grant mercy on the soul of the poor innocent thus
afflicted. Kane then spotted the werewolf's fallen amulet; picking it
up, he resolved that he would not leave the area until he had learned
the amulet's significance.
((Sword of) Solomon Kane#2 - BTS) - Kane buried the former werewolf's body.
((Sword of) Solomon Kane#2 - BTS) - Kane was reunited with Nathan Cabel, who brought him back to his home where he met Marta. Solomon told Marta of his encounter with the werewolf, and he showed her the amulet he had recovered from it, noting that he was not going to leave the area until he had learned the amulet's significance.
((Sword
of) Solomon Kane#2 - BTS) - That night, as the others slept, Marta
compared the amulet to one the one her father had given her, and she
realized that the wolf who had attacked Justin was her brother.
She begged/prayed for this not to be the case.
At some point, Marta shared this information with Nathan, but certainly not with Solomon and presumably not with Justin.
Justin began transforming into a werewolf each night of the full moon. The werewolf Justin slew Marta before Nathan was forced to kill his own son.
Nathan subsequently revealed to Solomon that the wolf who had transformed Justin was Marta's evil brother.
Acknowledging that the werewolf's amulet had previously caused Solomon discomfort, Nathan gave it back to Solomon, asking him to keep it in remembrance of what his presence had wrought that day.
Solomon took the amulet and thanked Nathan, but a few miles down the road, Solomon cast it aside into the snow.
