as an undetermined period of time thereafter)

Base of Operations: Sons of the Desert of the desert compound, somewhere in the American Southwest's deserts (likely California, Nevada or Arizona)
First Appearance: A-Team#2 (April, 1984)
Powers/Abilities: Mr. Tezuka is skilled in an
unspecified form of martial arts (possibly karate, Okinawan Kobudo or
others) and is a a master of the nunchaku.
However, he could be duped by misdirection,
disrupting his concentration and defenses.
He is blind in his right eye (or
possibly does not even have a right eye) and wears an eye patch over it.
History:
(A-Team#2 (fb) - BTS) - Training to achieve mastery of nunchaku, Mr. Tezuka presumably either suffered an injury or a
disease that cost him the function of his right eye, leading him to wear
an eye patch.
(A-Team#2 (fb) - BTS) - Treated like a nuisance by his sons (Bruce, Kosei and another unidentified) in their quest to build an empire, Mr. Kuramoto used his own money to build a desert paradise, a haven from games of deceit and death. He eventually staged his own kidnapping and used the 10 million dollar ransom money to complete his dream.
The group in Mr. Kuramoto's compound
became known as the Sons of the Desert, and nunchaku master Mr. Tezuka
became part of the staff there at some point.
After their father was not returned to
them, Kuramoto's sons hired the A-Team to recover him.
(A-Team#2 (fb) - BTS) - While
trying to infiltrate the Sons of the Desert as telephone repair men,
Hannibal Smith and B.A. Baracus' deception was recognized as they did
not have telephones in the compound.
They were taken to security chief Mr. Yamato, and when they refused to reveal their true identities or why they had come there, he told them they would have to fight for their lives in the Arena of Death.
(A-Team#2) - Hannibal first was given a set of nunchaks
and forced to face Mr. Tezuka. Smith dodged Tezuka's first swing, and
B.A. considered that -- regardless of the rules -- if Hannibal couldn't
handle "that fool," then he would step in. As Hannibal dodged a couple
more strikes, Tezuka warned him that he could not avoid his blows
forever.
Acknowledging this, Hannibal realized
he had to do something unexpected and crazy. While taunting Tezuka with,
"Your mother's a Toyota!" --
leading Tezuka to warn him that he would pay for such insolence --
Hannibal stayed on Tezuka's blind side and maneuvered him toward his
cigar, which he had dropped while dodging Tezuka's first nunchaku swing.
After Tezuka stepped on the cigar's lit
end, when Tezuka cried out in pain and picked up his foot, Hannibal
asked, "Hey, who let that scorpion in
here?"
Tezuka was distraught by the thought of
having been stung by a scorpion, and Hannibal mockingly said he would
swat it to prevent someone from getting hurt in the "Arena of Death."
However, he instead struck the foot Tezuka had on the ground and wrapped
his nunchaks around Tezuka's ankle and pulled, spinning him around.
With Tezuka off balance, Hannibal
struck him in the back of his head, knocking him out.
Although noting it to be highly unethical, Mr. Yamato admitted that it was still a victory for Hannibal.
(A-Team#2 - BTS) - After B.A. fought and ultimately defeated the Sumo, the A-Team eventually met with Mr. Kuramoto who revealed that he was not a prisoner but rather the head of the organization and that he had no desire to re-establish contact with his sons.
Respecting Kuramoto's wishes, the
A-Team were allowed to depart peacefully.
The A‑Team is an American fictional action‑adventure television series that aired on NBC from January 23, 1983 to March 8, 1987. Created by Stephen J. Cannell and Frank Lupo, it follows a squad of former U.S. Army Special Forces commandos who, after being falsely convicted of a crime, escape military prison and become soldiers of fortune. Led by the cunning Colonel John "Hannibal" Smith and joined by Lieutenant Templeton "Faceman" Peck, Sergeant B. A. Baracus, and Captain H. M. Murdock, the team dedicates itself to helping those in need. In the first season and the first half of the second season, the team was assisted by reporter Amy Allen.
I loved the A-Team TV show as a kid, although I don't know if the comic book fits perfectly into the continuity of the TV show. The comic book, at least, could fit into the continuity of Earth-616 circa the time of publication which is 27 years before the Fantastic Four's empowering space launch at the time this profile was posted, and a year more with every year of real time that passes.
The A-Team drove 26 hours (although
they likely took some breaks for gas/using the bathroom and eating) from
San Francisco to reach the Sons of the Desert compound, which would likely
put it either in the Nevada or Arizona, although it could have still be in
the Mojave desert or Great Basin Desert of California, 13 hours' drive or
15.5 hours' drive, respectively. They could have stopped at a hotel
overnight, or just shifted drivers.

Big thanks to Loki for suggesting Mr. Tezuka to
represent the A-Team for the event AND for cleaning up the main image!
