History:
(Red Warrior I#2) - After the settler Jeb Emery was killed by a Comanche arrow, Sheriff Stevens conducted an investigation. With a three-man posse, he rode out to Comanche land to explain matters to Chief Grey Eagle. When he presented the murder weapon to the Comanche, Red Warrior recognized it as an arrow he had made himself. Stevens asked to see Red Warrior's horse and discovered red clay on the horse's hoofs that matched the red clay found on Jeb Emery's spread. Having seen enough, Stevens ordered Red Warrior be arrested for murder. Chief Grey Eagle interjected that if Red Warrior was guilty, he should be punished by his own people, insisting a Comanche tribunal would judge and punish him. Sheriff Stevens agreed to this. The tribunal cast out Red Warrior but he ran an investigation into Jeb Emery's death, meeting with Jeb's son Roy at Jeb's cabin to investigate the murder scene. After Red Warrior left the cabin to continue his search, Roy contacted Sheriff Stevens, believing that Red Warrior was tracking his father's killers. The true murderer proved be a renegade Comanche, Bear Claw, who was working for Luke Blanchard, who, in turn, wanted Emery's land for the gold found on its property. Red Warrior killed Bear Claw and was facing off against Blanchard and his gunman Slade when Sheriff Stevens arrived. In the resulting gun battle, Slade accidentally shot Blanchard, killing him. Stevens arrested Slade and congratulated Red Warrior for solving the crime and clearing his name.

(Red Warrior I#2/2) - Sheriff Stevens escorted to the Comanches a man claiming to be Mr. Wright, a government land agent. The impostor claimed the Comanche tribe were being expelled from their land, which Chief Grey Eagle refused to obey. Red Warrior ultimately proved the supposed "Mr. Wright" was part of a group of stage robbers. Red Warrior killed the impostor and his henchmen Casewell and Lawes. When Sheriff Stevens examined their bodies, he found enough evidence to prove they were criminals who had met the end they deserved. By the time Stevens returned to the Comanches with the good news, they had discovered that a White man they had been help recuperate was the real Mr. Wright, who had papers that permanently established the Comanches' right to their land.
