Powers/Abilities: Slits, Pink & Home were brutal criminals, willing to kill an elderly woman without qualms for perhaps a hundred or a couple hundred dollars.
Slits carried a switchblade, Home carried a dagger-like shiv and Pink carried a metal pipe.
History:
(Justice I#1 (fb) - BTS) - Slits and Pink thought to teach their younger associate, Home, the basics of theft.
(Justice I#1 (fb) - BTS) - At
the age of 71 years, retired seamstress Eudora Simpson cashed her social security check at her
local grocery store in Alphabet City (where the streets did not have
names but rather letters).
She purchased her groceries but
after she
left the store, she was confronted by the young punks Slits, Pink and
Home. Shaking in fear, Eudora respectfully addressed the young men, but
Pink struck
her in the head with a pipe, knocking her out.
The trio took her purse and some of her groceries and then fled.
(Justice I#1) - As Eudora lay
on the sidewalk, her face in a pool of blood, either dead or
unconscious, Slits, Pink and Home climbed over a nearby fence. Pink
joked to Slits not to go too quickly or he was going to make him toss
his cookies.
Although Slits was annoyed with him, Pink continued,
stating the obvious that the running was both making him spill the
cookies he had taken from the old woman as well as noting that it might
make him "ralf" (vomit).
Slits retorted that Pink would rather be a
fool than focusing on teaching Home the basics.

(Justice I#1) - Pink, Slits and Home rushed back to an abandoned house where Slits dumped out the purse while advising both Pink and Home that the first basic was getting to cover and checking out what they had obtained, rather than "playing Cookie Monster."
Slits replied that the violence gave him the munchies "worse'n good weed,"
and Home commented on the money dropping out of the purse, exclaiming
that they were all twenties and that with his cut he could...but Slits
interrupted him, telling him they could buy a "piece" (a gun) and to
for a real score.
Slits continued that there were a
bunch at the Factory who were ripe, thinking that they were too big to
be touched.
Pink then interrupted Slits,
noting that someone (Justice) was up in the shadows at the top of the
stairs, and he told Slits to let him whack the guy like he had "whacked that little ol' lady!"
Slits told Pink to chill out and asked what Home could see (perhaps Slits sunglasses hindered his vision in the shadows?), and Home told him that it was a big dude.
Slits told the man to come down
(which Justice did), asking if he was lost, perhaps having wandered out
of one of the clubs on the avenues and nodded off in that building.
Home questioned whether the man
was law, noting that he would be happy to kill him, if Slits gave him
the word. Pink countered that the man did not dress like the law,
noting his cool coat and that he was not even sweating wearing it in
the middle of July.
As Justice remained silent, Slits
became annoyed, demanding to know who he was, hiding out in a place
like this and continuing that he "smelled" like law but not like any
law he had ever seen.
Noting Justice's solid red eyes, Pink suggested that the man was on drugs, and that whatever he was holding was going to be theres.
Slits appreciated that the man's
eyes were not the result of drugs and appreciated that the man might be
scoping them out.
Home commented that he did not like the situation, as the man should be shaking in fear and be nice and respectful, like the old woman.
Considering the man to be a
challenge and not liking his "games" and "crazy eyeballin'," Slits took
off his visor, pulled his switchblade and told him to tell them who he
was or "kiss that face goodbye."
Replying that he was Justice, the man unleashed a burst of energy from his right hand that incinerated the young criminals, leaving behind only three piles of ashes...and the visor that Slits had held out of the primary blast.
(Justice I#1 - BTS) - Picking up the visor, Justice donned it to conceal his inhuman eyes.

This story took place back when Justice was under Daedalus Darquill's influence and believed himself to be a native of the Land of Spring in the Far Place.
Justice can perceive the
aura around people to determine if they possess paranormal powers.
He initially believed this ability to allow him to tell good from
evil, but this may be part of Darquill's illusions.
That being said, the group discussed their recent
assault within earshot of him, and Pink noted he had "whacked that
little ol' lady," so perhaps he only thought he was using his aura
power to determine that they were corrupt.
As their group did not have a
name, they were marginally a team, but we don't know much about them,
and so a group profile with sub-profiles to cover all of the story and
the images fully seemed to fit.

CLARIFICATIONS:
The Slits, Pink & Home have no known connections to:
He carried a knife.A younger, or at least less experienced, criminal, Home was coached by Slits in the basics of theft. Regardless, he participated in the potentially fatal mugging of Eudora Simpson and was incinerated by Justice. --Justice I#1 Note: Home (or Homes) is a fairly common term of familiarity, but Slits called him "Home" repeatedly, and he wasn't called anything else. |
| z |
He carried a metal water pipe in his belt.He joked around a lot, but Slits did not find him funny and instead repeatedly called him a fool. Partnered with Slits and Home, he participated in the mugging of Eudora Simpson, and it was he who bludgeoned her in the head with his pipe, and he was incinerated by Justice. --Justice I#1 Note: He wore a pink shirt, and maybe he always wore pink. Or, perhaps he was just referred to that because his skin tone was relatively pink compared to that of his African-American associates. |
![]() He carried a switchblade and wore a visor (presumably the source of his nickname).Partnered with Pink, he sought to train the younger, or at least less experienced, Home in the basics of theft. He acted as the leader of the group, and the others deferred to him. Regardless, he participated in the potentially fatal mugging of Eudora Simpson and was incinerated by Justice. --Justice I#1 |
