Powers/Abilities: His body imbued with the power cosmic, the Silver Surfer possesses vast powers, including superhuman strength and speed, unassisted interstellar flight, cosmic self-sustenance, and lack of conventional aging.

History: (Marvel I#6/3 (fb)) - Silver Surfer presumably had the same early history as his reality-616 counterpart, being a native of Zenn-La in love with Shalla-Bal who became the Herald of Galactus to save his world from the World Devourer. At some point he visited Earth, whose inhabitants managed to drive Galactus away.

(Marvel I#6/3 (fb) - BTS) - After thousands of lifetimes serving as the Herald of Galactus, the Silver Surfer lost most of his memories to the passage of time. He developed an inner mantra to keep what little he still knew, despite understanding that by that point it could be self-told fiction.

(Marvel I#6/3) - The Silver Surfer came to a dying world that was Earth but did not recognize it despite feeling that it was familiar. In the skies over New York City, he was attacked by the android Human Torch, who told Surfer that the planet had nothing for his master. The Surfer said that the world still lived, but Torch countered that both he and the planet merely existed as dying husks, though he would still fight to defend his home.

    These words brought back the memory of the Surfer's own home, but the pain of remembered loss caused him to lash out, knocking Human Torch into a building. His flames were extinguished, but the Surfer helped him back up and invited Torch to join him and to visit other planets. Human Torch declined, said goodbye to the Surfer, and without hope of victory flew to face Galactus, who had arrived to consume Earth. The Silver Surfer repeated his mantra to remember this encounter, but the chirping of a small primate distracted him, and this memory was lost like so many others.
