History:

(Star Brand I#18 (fb) - BTS) - Pinhead developed paranormal abilities and an altered physical appearance sometime following the White Event, a brilliant flash of light which had been caused by the Star Brand on July 22, 1986. At some point Pinhead befriended a fellow paranormal called Spotty and the two of them began mugging people in Manhattan.

(Star Brand I#18) - One day in late 1988, Pinhead and Spotty were mugging a woman in an alley when they were confronted by Stephanie Harrington, also a paranormal. When Stephanie easily knocked down Spotty with a kick, Pinhead was startled, never having seen Spotty take a hit like that. Releasing the spikes from his head, Pinhead charged Stephanie, attempting to stab her with his spikes. However, Stephanie easily jumped aside to avoid Pinhead's charge and knocked him out.
