History:
(True Tales of Love I#29/2) - Sally was in love with her boyfriend Pete, a service station attendant. One night, they dreamed together about what they might do if they had enough money to be married and live in a large house. Pete promised that, one day, he would obtain his own service station.

    Less than a month later, Sally's father received $30,000 plus royalties from the Paragon Manufacturing Company for a device he had invented. With their new money, the family bought a larger house and started going to the local country club, traveling in the best circles. Sally found herself being invited on dates with other wealthy men such as Dennis and Bruce Manning. She drifted apart from Pete but over time started to realize the men she was dating didn't mean as much to her as Pete had. Sally realized she was still in love with Pete and decided to go back to him at once.

    Sally drove to the Star Service Station where Pete worked and invited him over to dinner but Pete informed her he was seeing someone else and wouldn't have time to spend with her. Sally feared she had lost Pete and, at home, was overcome with tears. She resolved that she would win Pete back.

(True Tales of Love I#30) - Several days later, Sally telephoned Pete and invited him for dinner with her family. Pete agreed but throughout the evening, he was stiff and emotionally distant, referring to he and Sally's relationship as if it were long in the past. After Pete left, Sally blamed herself for driving him away by her new lavish lifestyle.

    One night, Sally saw Pete out with another woman and realized he really had moved on. However, just a few days after this, Pete surprised Sally by inviting her out on a date. To Sally's delight, their relationship picked up where it had been before and Pete admitted he had been trying to move on and forget her but was still in love with Sally. Sally replied she was still in love with Pete as well and wanted a chance to prove it. Pete wondered if Sally would be willing to give up the new lifestyle she'd enjoyed with her wealthy parents but Sally insisted she would give it all up for him.

    Pete and Sally were married and Sally found it was no sacrifice for her at all. Pete eventually became the owner of his own service station, as he'd promised her.

After Sally's family became wealthy, Sally found herself invited on dates by other young men such as Dennis and Bruce, causing her and Pete to drift apart. Pete believed Sally had fallen out of love with him and started seeing another woman in an attempt to move on. However, when Sally confronted him about her love for him, he confessed he hadn't stopped loving her. Sally ultimately married Pete and Pete eventually became the owner of his own service station.

Sally's father was an inventor who created something which the Paragon Manufacturing Company paid him $30,000 plus royalties for. With this money, Sally's family was able to purchase a new house and travel in wealthier circles.
