Powers/Abilities: Mutate #24601 has the power to contract his body, making himself appear to be little more than a living skeleton. In this state he can squeeze through tight opening and remove himself from restraints.

History:

(X-Factor I#90 (fb) - BTS) - The mutant called "Mutate #24601" was enslaved at one time by the government of Genosha and made to serve the Genoshan state and its magistrates. After the nation changed regimes resulting in limited efforts to grant freedom to the mutates, #24601 was one of several Genoshan mutates who became ill with the Legacy Virus. As the virus had not yet been identified the sudden spate of illnesses surprised the Genoshan government. #24601 was placed in a Genoshan hospital's ICU with others afflicted by the Legacy Virus. The Genoshan government brought in Moira MacTaggert to help treat the mutates. Publicly, the Genoshan government claimed the hospital in question had been shut down due to budget cuts.

(X-Factor I#90) - The visiting X-Factor team and their US government liaison Dr. Valerie Cooper were brought by the Genegineer to view the mutates in the ICU from the observation theatre.

Despondent over his situation and fearing he had only hours left to live, #24601 took advantage of a shift change to make an escape as he didn't trust the Genoshan government to save his life. Feeling he'd rather die free, he used his power to escape the bonds on his bed and squeezed into a disposal unit leading out to sea. #24601's escape sounded alarms and as the government still didn't know the nature of his illness the Genegineer was prepared to have #24601 killed by the magistrates as a quarantine measure but X-Factor insisted they would bring #24601 back alive.

(X-Factor I#91) - While the rest of X-Factor fought the magistrates, Multiple Man found #24601 lying face down in the disposal water. Madrox judged that #24601 was in cardiac arrest and started to revive him while still wearing his protective gear. While the rest of X-Factor cautioned Madrox over the radio not to tend to #24601 himself, Jamie realized that to save the mutate's life he would have to perform CPR. Using his powers, Jamie created a duplicate who wasn't wearing a protective suit. Working together the two Madrox performed CPR and saved Mutate #24601's life. The mutate was surprised that Madrox saved his life and rasped that he only wanted to avoid dying like a lab rat in an experiment. Madrox admitted he would have felt the same way in his situation. The rest of X-Factor arrived to see that Madrox had the problem in hand but were unaware that Jamie had broken quarantine in order to revive Mutate #24601. They brought the mutate back to the hospital's ICU. Genosha's president thanked X-Factor for their show of compassion toward the mutate.

Jamie's use of CPR afflicted him with the Legacy Virus when he reabsorbed his duplicate. Don't worry, he got better.
