History:
(Silver Surfer III
Annual #2 / 6 (fb) - BTS)
- Mishna lived in abject poverty with her husband and family. Desperate
to
improve her family's circumstances, she decided to sell her soul to
Mephisto in
exchange for immortality and material prosperity.
(Silver Surfer III Annual
# 2 / 6)
- One night, Mishna came to a deserted location to finalize her deal
with
Mephisto. The Silver Surfer happened to pass by and she mistook him
first for
her husband and then Mephisto. The Surfer asked what she was doing out
all
alone at night and she readily admitted that she was there to sell her
soul in
exchange for improving her family's circumstances. The Surfer told her
how becoming
the Herald of Galactus saved his world but also that his motives were
selfish
and cost him the love of his life. The Surfer assured Mishna that she
had the power within
herself to make her dreams come true then departed, leaving the
decision to
her.
Mephisto soon arrived to consummate the
bargain but Mishna rejected him, vowing to find another way to help her
family.
Mephisto departed, berating and assuring her that she would come back.
