History:

(Daredevil I#235 (fb) - BTS) - Stinky McQuade was one of many children who grew up in Hell's Kitchen during the childhood of Matt Murdock. Stinky called Matt "Daredevil" to bully him because he was so studious and refused to play with him and his friends. When Matt was later blinded in an accident while saving a blind man, Stinky felt a terrible regret for how he had treated Matt. A few years later, several of Stinky's friends got in trouble with the police; this convinced Stinky to straighten up and avoid crime. Much like Matt Murdock, he became a studious young man and worked hard at school. Eventually he became an accountant, bought a house in Great Neck, got married and had three children.

(Daredevil I#235) - One day Stinky went back to Hell's Kitchen to buy his favorite cannoli when he happened to see Matt Murdock on the street with his girlfriend Karen Page. Calling out, "Daredevil--?" Stinky reintroduced himself to Matt and brought up how he used to torment him when they were children. Stinky apologized for his behavior but also told Matt "we were just havin' fun with you in the old days. It was nothin' personal." Stinky felt some people were "sensitive" and would have let that bullying upset them. "I'm glad it didn't screw anything up with you." As Stinky parted to get back to work he said to Matt, "Take care -- Daredevil!" Matt was left to ponder whether Stinky had surmised his double life as a costumed hero.

A popular pasttime in Hell's Kitchen is to tell Matt Murdock you're the one who came up with his nickname "Daredevil." First, Stymie Schmidt claimed it was him (Daredevil I#203); then came Stinky; finally, Nate Hackett in Daredevil III#28.

Stinky might be in Daredevil I#1, but as I just noted he's in competition to be one of the unidentified bullies.
