History:
(
Marvel Age I#64 (fb) - BTS) - The origins of the Low Evolutionary are unrevealed.

He is apparently both the long-lost brother and the exact opposite of the High Evolutionary.

(Marvel Age I#64 (fb) - BTS) - In preparation for his interview with the High Evolutionary, Fred Hembeck arranged to have the Low Evolutionary surprise him on the show.

(Marvel Age I#64 - BTS) - Fred interviewed the High Evolutionary who was promoting his Evolutionary War, which was to be an event running through 11 Marvel Comics annuals that summer.

When Hembeck told the High Evolutionary that they had a surprise for him, "a fella you haven't seen in years, your long, lost brother," the High Evolutionary queried that it was not, in fact, his "evil (or is it benevolent) twin??"

(Marvel Age I#64) - Fred shared that it was instead his exact opposite, the Low Evolutionary.

The High Evolutionary and Low Evolutionary greated each other with, "Hi" and "'Lo," respectively, and as they apparently interacted further, Hembeck announced the show's conclusion.

Comments: Created by Fred Hembeck

I'm not sure why if they were long, lost brothers, Hembeck had to introduce them to each other, but perhaps they hadn't seen each other in decades and they wouldn't have recognized each other.
Ah, what's the difference? It's fun anyway...

This profile was completed 02/20/2026, but its publication was delayed as it was intended for the Appendix 25th anniversary 's celebratory event.
Thanks to Loki for recommending the Low Evolutionary to represent Fred Hembeck's features for the event!
